Booking

Booking courses should be done online using this link

As part of the booking process you will be asked to fill in a "details form" that makes things run a lot more smoothly at the start of the course.

A few days before the course you will receive "Joining Instructions" that will outline any further details for the course, including where to meet, what to bring etc.

We need you!

At Netley, all of us are volunteers, and all of the instructors give a lot of their time to run excellent courses. To ensure that training runs smoothly, parents are also a vital part of the team and help out things like with driving safety boats, keeping track of children on the water, OOD duties etc.

We ask that parents stay on site, or organise someone to be on site during all sessions for these reasons as well as to be available in case of any issues that may occur during the sessions.

Clothing

Appropriate clothing is really important for sailing, it is really easy to get cold even during the summer. We recommend that as a minimum, all children should be equipped with:

A wetsuit (long or short)
Sailing boots or shoes
A spray top
A buoyancy aid
Gloves
A hat

In the clubhouse foyer we have the "Ladybird bin" which is a great place to put old grown out of sailing kit, and pick up other bigger kit. It seems to be getting fuller and fuller, so please use it!

Food

On Saturdays, the galley is not always open, so you may need to bring a packed lunch. This should be mentioned on the Joining Instructions. On Sundays you can generally buy lunch from the Galley.
